Keep in mind, these are contractual recall rights. Without contractual recall language these members may not be coming back. Just one of many benefits of working under a union contract.

History:
There was no seniority until the strike and subsequent contract in 1965 (you had so called seniority but not for layoffs, downgrades, upgrades, recalls from layoff, or shift preference). Someone before us fought for these rights. You have helped to maintain them.
