Primary job responsibilities include:
~ Read blueprints or engineering specifications, and interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances per ASME Y14.5.
~ Measure dimensions, such as length, height, distance, between reference points, using appropriate instruments and methods such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, snap gauges.
~ Locate reference point on part and measures dimension such as angle, arc, and radii, using combinations of aids, such as surface parallel bars, angle plates, gauge blocks, V-blocks, sine bars.
~ Inspect surface finish and hardness using appropriate methods.
~ Determine if parts meet specifications, and complete inspection reports or nonconforming material reports as required.

Minimum requirements include:
~ 1-2 years trade school, vocational education, apprenticeship or work experience in mechanical inspection.
~ 1 year experience in machine shop environment.
~ 1 year experience in aerospace manufacturing environment.
~ Own reliable transportation
